Services
Stewart | Washmuth | Sollars Landscape Architecture, Inc. offers clients a wide range of services from evaluating zoning constraints to conceptual site plan design to meeting with contractors on site during construction. We enjoy working closely with our clients and believe that the best results come when we work together throughout the entirety of the project. Please review our provided services below.
Consultation + Due Diligence
Before design work ever begins our team performs thorough research in an effort to identify any opportunities and/or constraints that may lay ahead. From reviewing local codes to visiting the site, we believe that performing these inventory + analyses are a critical step in the design process. Though there are common due diligence exercises performed on every project, our firm has the ability to create a due diligence exercise that fits your needs. Below are common due diligence services provided:
Site Inventory + Analysis
Lot Yield Studies
Code + Zoning + Permitting
Construction Documentation
Construction Documentation is the backbone of the design process and assures that projects are built to align with your conceptual vision. In producing construction documentation SWSLA assures that the design aligns with construction industry standards as well as the requirements of local governing agencies. From local code required plans to elaborately detailed finishes, SWSLA can provide you with the plans you need to build your project. Common Construction Document Sets include:
Code Required Plans
Bid Sets + Opinions of Probable Construction costs
Signed and Sealed Construction Documents
Conceptual Design + Master Planning
Upon identifying the sites strengths and weaknesses we pull out our pens and markers and the creativity comes alive. With you SWSLA begins to brainstorm and layout the design. This begins with large shapes and sweeping lines highlighting spatial interactions and circulation. These plans quickly evolve from vague shapes and quick sketches into refined renderings that begin to resemble a functional and beautiful space. These ideas become the consistent theme carried throughout the design we begin to prepare Construction Drawings. Common components of a conceptual design package include:
Spatial + Functional Diagrams
Conceptual Renderings (plan view, elevations, etc.)
Character Boards + Landscape Palettes
Bid Procurement
Bid procurement typically runs concurrent with construction documentation and is the process of getting pricing for the construction of the project. SWSLA can help to coordinate and answer any questions that you or contractors may have. Once pricing has been received the design team is brought together to review the pricing and if the project is in a good position to move forward. Upon acceptance of a construction contract the project is scheduled to break ground! Common bid procurement services include:
Request For Proposals (RFP) to Contractors
Proposal Review
Client + Contractor Liaison
3-D Animation
3-D modeling has proven to be an incredibly beneficial tool for the design industry. Whether you are looking for mass models to evaluate a sites capabilities or are looking for something intricate to review finished products, SWSLA can provide you with what you need. Having the capability to put yourself in the space before it ever gets built gives you comfort knowing that the final product will align with your vision. Common model services provided:
Massing Models (height evaluation, spatial design, lot yields)
Still Images
Animated Fly Throughs
Construction Administration
As the construction of the project begins SWSLA is there to answer any question that you or contractors may have. We visit the site and coordinate with you and the design team regularly. We also assure that the project is in keeping with the design and that everything is being constructed and installed per plan. At the end of construction we perform punch list walk throughs and issue the necessary documents for completion. Common construction administration services include:
